Meet the Artist
I have being drawing for as long as I can remember and have loved cats even longer.
I was born and raised in Nova Scotia and am now living in Fredericton, New Brunswick with my partner (a.k.a. the Housecat Arts IT manager) and too many cats. I work as a GIS and Remote Sensing Specialist and create art in my spare time. I have been doing commissions since around 2011, where it began with creating pet portraits with acrylic paint while I was in high school.
My real introduction to art started when I was in elementary school taking water colour lessons every Sunday from a local artist, Nancy Lynds, and I have been learning new styles, techniques, and mediums ever since. I've tried lots of different mediums (including stained glass, pottery, painting, drawing, etching, batik, and felting) and have enjoyed every one of them! It's hard to pick a favourite but I have really loved the portability of digital art and don't go very far without my iPad.
My other hobbies include growing houseplants, gardening, and eating bread. If you want to follow me and see what I'm working on you can find me on instagram and facebook.
